zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's

Some serious zzzz's seriously needed this weekend - for some reason this week has taken it out of me - I think the late night at work tonight, night class starting again and general work and not much sleep is taking its toll. That and the fact I had one of the class's from hell today - seriously most are fine but there are a couple of groups which are real hard work.

On the plus side my form group think I'm ultra cool since they found out I like to ski and snowboard so things are going ok there. Tomorrow is a Personal Development day also so no kids in the school and one of the other women who I work with (J) is not in and she seriously stresses everyone out - so tomorrow its me, C and D (The Three Muskateers) so I've bought some iced buns yummy.

As for tonight - general chill time!

Can't wait for....

Snow... As usual when i'm feeling down in the dumps i took to some serious riding the other day - and came across a fantastic place to board/ski - I only need to add snow - luckily every year since I have been here I have had snow so can't wait this year - next time I am out I'll take my cam and show you all. Its in the middle of a forest however there is a massive clearing - probably about the width of the slope at Castleford and probably as long if not longer - all i need now is to add a lift and I'll be laughing - hmmmm wonder how C is doing with his 4 X 4!!!!

So tonight I decided to go to a fun night at my new place of employment (school) and I have to say I had a hoot. Some of us rebellious teachers got together and we went along for the quiz, bingo (lol) and raffle but best of all a massive bouncy castle assault course which completely filled the gym - of course we did the teacherly thing and blew the whistle and got the kids off and just ran riot, I went on to win some booze on the raffle and B won some chocy on the bingo so all in all we had a cracking night :)

Fishy Number 2...Fishy's brother

Sunday, September 18, 2005

PS... New member of family...Again!

Fishy 2 - arrived thanks to Stokesley Fair and some nifty hook a duck tactics (incidentally he is Fishy 1's brother if anyone asks wink wink). Fishy 1 lasted just short of a year and went back to find his mummy in the sea whilst we were in Ireland (hmmm hmm) so lets hoping Fishy 2 lasts!

Child logic....

Here is how the conversation went....

E - Mummy I don't want my milk
Me - Why not?
E - Because it comes from cows...
Me - And?
E - Well it tastes of cows so I don't want it...
Me - How about I do some magic and make it so it comes from Sweeties?
E - Ok then

One magic spell later and the milk was down in 5 seconds flat :)

Real real busy weekend - I think two weeks of working flat out full time is taking its toll! Don't get me wrong I love my new job however have been missing the extra time with E, so this weekend I thought a nice weekend take E to Stokesley show and fair and then S and R's birthday swim party on the evening - in theory this was all well and good however had an unexpected visitor - normally I would not mind and even love people just turning up but bearing in mind that I've not spent any real time just me and E recently I could have done without it (guess it depends on visitor too - some poeple are hard to cope with whilst others I would love to visit more often!) Anyway visitor invited themselves to stay the night and really I should have said no.. instead I fell asleep on the sofa mid conversation! (thats how tired I was). So today it got to after lunch and I politely asked visitor to leave explaining that I was so tired and just wanted some time with E (some people just don't get the hint)- or maybe i'm just too nice. So nice afternoon anyway and got stuff done in the house and spent soem lovely time with E so ready to chill for the evening before another busy week :)

Rule Britania

Ok why is it that every year I manage to miss most of the bloody proms - and happen to come across it on the final night????? So in my old age (32) and wisdom i've decided to make a list of things I must do before I die!!!!!!!! the first one - either being part or taking part in some way of the last night of the proms - after all good music, loads of booze and a fantastic laugh has to be done really....doesnt it???? Any taker to do that one with me???

Hint!

Not sure if this happens all the time but... went to open wine which i put in freezer to chill quick - ok so i left it in there a tad too long! but when i came to open it, cause it was a plastic cork instead of grabbing it and pulling it it pushed - so tip - don't freeze wine with a plastic cork! (ps did not realise it was plastic - and good job i got two bottles one of which was in the fridge!)

survived!

Well first week on my new job done and I am so looking forward to the weekend (jeeze I didnt realise how complacent I got working part time). I would be lying if I said I was not shitting myself but to be honest once I got there there really was not time to worry - just had to get on and deal with it! I have now taught all years (7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th)and thoroughly loved it - even though I had one group of year 9's from hell (spawn of the devil no less) so 2 of the lads got detention in my first lesson (cheeky gits) - not good but soon sorted them out - I took advice and went in hard and quickly earned the nickname of Miss Kick Ass Jones (ha ha)but at least the kids are being nice and doing what they are told! I obvioulsy have my fav year to teach which has surprised me (see if anyone can guess???)And also got some compliments along the way from boss etc which is an added bonus or maybe they are just going easy on me??? As it is although the week started stressful I feel like I've been there ages and have a feeling I'm going to really enjoy this job.

Sooooooo as a reward - and the fact that I've not had a glass of wine all week - I've been to the shop tonight and am celebrating with a bottle of wine and some Ben and Jerry ice cream which was on special offer (not a healthy tea but hey). E is with her father this weekend also so a nice lie in for me and hoping to see a mate this weekend that I've not seen for bloody ages - likelihood of this happening though I think is slim unless he plucks up the courage!!!!

I did have a surprise visit from a mate J though on Wednesday night (on route from Cambridge to Stranraer to catch the ferry to Belfast (reporting from there this weekend i think)which was good fun :)

So going to crack open bottle of Chablis and have some Phish Food (think thats how you spell it!).

Ireland Holiday Pics!!!!

Super Speedy Ferry Home!
Me and E like Guinness
Kissing Blarney Stone - Had to be done!
Wished on a lucky rainbow!
Sis and family paid a visit
My drinking partner!!!!
Worn Out Ahhhhh!
A leprachaun kindly took a pic :)

Ireland Holiday Epic 2 - The holiday!!!!

So anyway got to the lovely house that slept 8!!!! in own grounds on the banks of the blackwater river and it was stunning. Decided to check the car when I got there to find bald tyers which was a minor set back (man thing again)- gotta say car parts are loads cheaper over there as is petrol!

So anyway lovely location to explore and did the Ring of Kerry which has stunning scenery (see pic).

People in Ireland are real friendly too as was the weather.

Also went to Muckross House and Grounds, Fota House and Grounds, Barryscourt Castle, Blarney Castle etc, Limerick and Tipperary, as well as some off the beaten track things when trundling around such as St Johns Well and Stone Circles etc. E was a star all the time and it was nice to spend some time with her. Was booked with someone else in mind to join us who was missed loads but still had a real good time and of course plenty of guinness and wine :)

Ireland Holiday Epic 1 - The journey!!!

Ok so the holiday started off real bad - got the car all loaded up got E in and.... Nothing - not a bean - nothing at all - car completely dead - frantic panic set in so and rang for assistance - thank god for breakdown recovery - the guy quickly located the problem - hmm hmmm a prize for the person who guesses what I did - but needless to say (and no offence to blondes) but I am investing in some peroxide - in my defence I was stressed!

Anyway in the end got to my lovely hotel in Chester in one piece :)

Next day disaster again (ha ha some times I wish I had a partner to calm me down!) Loaded up again from hotel and set off - half an hour into journey (TO CATCH THE FERRY) a little voice came from the back of the car - absolutely distraught - mummy where is bunbuns (fav toy rabbit and sleeping companion of E)- it was then I had the vision of him still in the bed!!!! So rather than face a holiday of sheer hell and since I left plenty of time I turned around. In theory things should have been fine if only I had not got lost getting back to the hotel (roads look different from the reverse angle) and in the end had to be guided by nice guy on reception who was waiting on my return.

So we set off (again) and drive which I was told would only take about 3 hours max - took 4 hours!!!!! OMG frantic phone calls to the ferry company - luckily the ferry was late as we were one the conventional one at 2.30pm and the fast one at 4pm had major problems so it meant they held ours up to let them get on - otherwise I would not have made it - I got there at 2.25pm!!!!!

Needless to say I was stressed by the time I got there and relieved I actually got to Ireland in one piece all be it late and knackered and long drive to destination and got to great house at 11pm

Sad news first....

:( Got home to news (actaully got a frantic call on way to ferry) to say fishy had died :( 1 year not bad!! so anyway E thinks he's gone to join his mummy in the sea and is now happy using his bowl as a fairy grotto as you can see :)

Was funny really as R who was minding fishy and cats was absolutely distaught - At first I thought something dreadful was wrong but when I found out I burst out laughing - R and S were prepared to go and get a replacement but in the end fairy grotto won over :)
