Last Day!

Me being me I thought I would be a nightmare today but surprisingly not... I don't feel like I've actually left STEES yet actually due to me carrying on doing some work for them in terms of the website I've been doing until my replacement arrives. I've worked there for coming up 12 years so time for a move I think and although I will really miss certain people I think the change in career is really what I need... After all if not why do I feel ok about it all..... go figure that one out!

Anyway manic last day and I got some real nice gifts off people however have been told I have a nice big gift coming at my official leaving do on the 16th September so that should be interesting. I also got some real nice message and real good mates turn out at the pub yesterday afternoon which makes you realise who really are you true mates! I could go on and list them but I won't but thanks one and all and I shall miss you but don't think you've gotten rid of me yet - especially you Mr G!!!

So on hols for a week to Ireland which should be fun - not quite the hol I had planned (you know who I'm takling about) but good all the same and "quality" time with E before my next new venture.... lets hope the kids at Sacred Heart don't eat me, chew me up and spit me out in my first week :)

Not to be outdone

Ok not to be outdone by Ledbums story board - I did this a while ago - not as many (due to not sure which or how many to put up) but still cool (at least I think so!).

Escaped!

Look who hopped out of the burning fire - nearly frogs legs on the menu there!

nn zzzzzzzzzzzzz F x

Strange coincidence in an alternate kinda way

Was reading Ledbums blog and found it really funny that whilst he was putting fence panels up I was burning some tee hee (funny how we kinda do stuff the same in a kinda strange way if you get my meaning) anyway was such a nice day I had to be out in the garden and lets face it it really needed it - N was a star with the loan of a lawn mower (since the one I got replaced via the insurance company broke the first time I used it), and even stayed to help out which was much appreciate. So in the end got all the strimming done, and all the hedges cut back and neatened up as well as tackling the jungle and having a massive bonfire - bloody knackered now though! Oh and managed to get the old belfast sink - under the outside tap up on home made legs so i now have a working sink in the garden :) cool!

Fairies and fairy dust

E has discovered fairies and really and truly believes in them - it started at the beginning of the week - we were stopping and Auntie K's as mum has been ill and could not look after E so K stood in - anyway one morning the sun was coming through the curtains so you could see the dust particles floating around and E was convinced it was fairy dust. As a coincidence Granny bought E a fairy ornament today so E has decided to put it on her shelf by the bed with a sweety for when the fairy comes alive (when she is asleep) however, in return she is expecting lucky fairy dust so I guess my little star card confetti is gonna have a new use! - Bonus - she could not wait to get to bed ha ha!

H popped by my office today so say i and check on me eye (one of the Dr's at work) - it turns out my right eye is nearly there but left eye looking dodgy which he does not think will be too bad and all better within a day or two - thank god - since its my last week next week prior to taking up my new post I've arranged to go to the pub on Wednesday lunch time - my boss have given everyone extra lunch so we can have a nice meal and booze up :) also have been asked if I will come back and do some consultancy type work on the web site im working on until they appoint a replacement :) - at least it should pay for christmas and hopefully some work on the house :)

Incidentally must metnion E is missing her mr potatoe head mate - mentioned again tonight!

So the right eye is loads better - just pinky now but at least its back to normal size - bad news is - the left eye is looking a bit pinky tonight now (lets hope it is the wine I had last night and not the same thing in the other eye now!).

Feeling a bit pissed off and upset tonight - I've been trying to get hold of someone i've not seen for months tonight to try and arrange something and have a general chat - lets just say not very successfully - not sure what comes after neglect and hurt feelings?

Well got to review the web site for work tonight which i've already spotted loads of stuff which has not been done which I asked for so this could be a long night!

Oink Oink

Forgot to mention - click on the above link - I thought it was real fun :)

Even with a bad eye I had a kinda busy weekend - me and E went down to Cattal near York on Monday to visit D,S,W,H and B and what was meant to be an hours visit turned into a whole afternoon. Its only been about 6 weeks since I was last there but they have got so much done with their house, the mill is half down and the reclaimed stone has been used to build another double garage with showroom for the piano's and the old garage will be used as a games room, the workshop is obviously still there and when I was there D returned with a door for the downstairs toilet (finally - although excused since it is in the annexy bit leading out to the water tower (which is the next bit to come down)the rest of the reclaimed brick will be used to finance D amd S's jaunt (and extremely late honeymoon - were talking about 15+ years here I think) to Newzealand later in the year. Of course W, H and B are monaing about slave labour etc whilst on School hols and were pleased of the distraction for the afternoon. E of course had a real good time and spent the whole time on the big trampoline but it was real good to see them and good luck W with the exam results next week (you never know your fairy godmother may take you out to celebrate wink wink).

As for the eye - I apologise profusely about the pic its not the most flattering and it took a while for me to know what Ledbum was talking about as I picked his comment up and work and can't access my blog from there however, realised when I got home that you didnt mean delete the pic but the annoying intruder onto the blog leaving promotional comments - not ammused! I thought my eye was looking better today but when I woke this morning (stayed with sis last night) K thought it looked worse - I defied the nurse and did go into work today (got told not too for fear of infecting all the docs ha ha) however was given a rather large bottle of disinfectant gel which they use on the wards for safety sake. It does feel better tonight though even though its still not pretty, hopefully will be well recovered for the weekend!!!!

Time for some zzzzzz's I think since sharing a bed with a 3 year old who insists on lying full length across the bed was not my idea of fun and not much sleep gained! (bless)

Yukkk but 100 times better

Ok well thanks for the vote of confidence about the hair and just to clarify the pic was taken prior to scuzzie eye as you can see... Yes I do look crap in the pic! I ended up in A&E following waking up this morning (well one eye did) the other was completely swollen like a tennis ball and excrutiating pain and no sleep hardly at all. So off I went to A&E as instructed by the opticians to be prodded and probed and generally cause excrutiating pain - I now have very strong antibiotic ointment for my eye 4 times a day - no contacts for at least 3 weeks! (oh by the way the yellow around the eye is not that I have been punched but that dye they stick in your eye to check it out). At least the swelling has kinda gone down even though i do have a lovely red hue to the eyeball and believe me this picture is a million times better than what it was previously! And no i know i don't look pretty (ha ha as if) but i was trying to keep my eye open long enough to show you how bad it really it sob sob sniff sniff...

New hair do! and frankensteins daughter......

Found a real nice hair do in a mag so went to get mine exactly the same - as with all good things they never come out the same and I was worried to say the least when all the hair was falling to the ground - as it is it looks nothing like the picture and very short indeed (well shorter than I expected anyway) - at least it will grow back again! On top of that I woke up this morning with the most horrendous pain in my right eye - I removed my contact lenses immediately (they are the ones you put in and leave for a whole month) - and inspected my eye in the mirror - hmmmmm - its about half the size of the left eye, completely swollen and bright red not to mention very wattery and stingy - I have been bathing it and rinsing it with eye drops all day and in the end called the optician who basically said carry on rinsing it and if it doesnt go down by the end of the weekend either go in there or the docs and expect a trip to A&E - oh joy - the thing is I can't even remember anything being a miss yesterday at all or anything going in my eye - the last thing was a fly on Wednesday when I was out on my bike ride. Was gonna post a pic of it but when I actually took the pic and saw it it made me feel sick so won't subject you all to that - early night to try and sleep it out is called for I think!

Exercise...

Managed to get out on my bike tonight following all my good intentions for this week while E is at her dad's - Monday mum was ill so had to go and be dutiful daughter - Tuesday (last night) was A's leaving bash in Yarm so only exercise I got was walking from pub to pub and beer arm exercise.

So tonight it was in from work and out on bike. I decided to go my normal route through witchy woods (which incidentally i think are really called half pence woods) but decided to take one of the trails off the cart track instead (getting daring you see in my old age) - I generally stick to the ones I know just in case but today I thought bugger it. The trail was real good actually, took me through some woods and out into a lovely meadow and I recognised the track at the end as my usual route so decided to bomb down the meadow going hell for leather (not quite a good idea) - I miss judged my speed (and I'm crap with distance)and went flying over the track - was heading for some nettles so lifted arms up (bad move) other side was a kinda ditch and when i went to grab the handle bars agaun the nettles which had missed my arms had firmly taken hold of my handle bars so I ended up with stings all up my arms anyway lol. I ended up in a wheat field!!! I decided to take the tractor tracks to the other side to go through unexplored woods. I have to say the tractor tracks are the right width to jam your peddals into as I found out lol.

So anyway got to the woods and did ride some of them but have to say i think I'll wait for a riding mate to join me just in case (I've really lost my nerve since shattering my funny bone a few years back) and stick to easy stuff when on my own! Anyway good ride back and only one nice bruise on my elbow lol.

Tip of the week...

Don't use conditionaing body scrub when you have paper cuts on your hands - ouch!
