Went into Uni today to sort out the IT people - managed anyway to get my work onto the K drave so no worries there. Flogged my guts out this weekend doing my business plan and only the bibliography to do now so nearly sorted.

Again Emily returned from her fathers a monster but I think thats an age thing now and basically trying it - on - no bloody way.

Retail Therapy

New Sunglasses (old ones got broken on the way back from Cyprus last year), new jeans (that don't fall down and i dont need a belt with - ie size smaller), A new top - because i liked it even thought its just a plain old t-shirt type thing, and new boots to take to Val for the nightime pub trawl - along with a couple of other non discript things so not a bad day all round - I've had a real lazy tea and got a ready made indian jobby from the shop since i forgot to defrost anything whilst out - time for bath and then thats it tonight with the exception of sticking on a load of washing - I've decided to have a day off Uni as I got too stressed out yesterday but tomorrow it will be work work work.

Ah well.

Ranting and Raving

I apologise for advance for this entry but I have to get this off my chest as it is cheesing me off real bad.

As most of you know I am doing a degree at Uni and this time the module is internet marketing for which I have designed and created a web for my project. The first rant is the fact that the Uni have chosen to use Macromedia Dreamweaver - now this is a new package so no one at the Uni is actually experienced in it and the hand book they gave us is crap and we have been updating all the errors in it as it is about as much use as a chocolate fire guard. Secondly not only can no one use it at Uni but they choose a package which is extotionately priced and the only reason I have it at home (the lucky one) is because the gorgeous J helped me out!.

when the work is complete we have to FTP (File Transfer Protocol) it from home to the student K Drive at uni which is in theory submitting the work so the tutor can mark it - simple you would think - so I've been trying to do this for two weeks. I have been in touch with my tutour and IT on numerous occassions and lost track of the number of e-mails I have sent. No luck uploading it I took itin on Disc and uploaded it only to find that it lost half my work. So I re-did it. Still could not put in on the K drive direct at uni to put it on the working I drive - again lost loads of work and again had to re-do it!!!!

So today I get call from the IT bod at Uni as I sent a nasty e-mail yesterday after being strandard in Uni from 6 - 9pm trying to sort this out - even the tutor went home and left me to it! (ended up sleeping at mums due to E being there and too late to move her but thats another story)- so anyway the call - apologising because it was their fault they had not set my K drive setting up right (their excuse - they have about one hundred pupils to do at any one time) - you can imagine my response to that one!!! but its all done now - or so they say.

So I have spent all night reformatting my web (yet again) and what do you know - go to FTP it and it still is not wokring - I am not a happy bunny and I have just sent off yet another nasty e-mail.

Soooooooo guess who has to spend their day off on Monday in Uni sorting this out once more rather than spending qaulity time with my little girl who incidentally is with her father this weekend).

Sooooo not happy - retail therapy tomorrow me thinks!

Feeling Down :(

Not sure why just one of those days I Guess. Walked to Skelton today with E which was real nice and a long walk (2 hours) then home stuff like washing the car etc etc so not a bad day just feeling a bit down for some reason - women's hoemones no doubt.

The Beheading of Barbie and other Junk

Busy day today - After the puking episode last night, a lie in was definitely wishful thinking and was up with E at 6.30am - who had incidentally magically got better.

So went into Guisborough to post a parcel and get some other stuff then back home (incidentally the original parcel was going to cost £24 to post until i removed two items and reduced it to a semi resonable £4).

Managed to dislodge the wendy house from the cherry tree with the help of S next door and sorted that out - I think he was a little concenred when he drove by and saw me jumping on top of it to try and get the doors open which were skywards to empty the toys and I was definitely grateful for the help - no way could i have moved that myself - we ended up rolling it then shuffling it into position. I then returned the favour with a rescue of the climbing frame and some general repairs to the barn due to the high winds. One thing I did notice was that the cows had made a mess of the paddock when they escaped (see previous bloggs)and an already uneven paddock is absolutely crap now so I think i'll have a word with the farmer and see if anything can be done!

So this afternoon it was playing out doors for E with S and R while I chopped some stuff in the garden.

Tidying up tonight in the house proved interesting - E was doing her normal nightly round up when she let out a blood curdling scream and ran through to the kitchen in tears saying something about Barbie - I investigated and discovered the reason for the toy chest lid stickign this afternoon - I was pre-occipied at the time so just forced it and managed to close it - what I missed that that I had beheaded Barbie and emily found the remains and was screaming about her being dead! We set up dolly hospital and i got me stethascope on! A quick shove later and he head was back on and a happy little girl who now has Barbie surgically atteched to her hand. Isn't the world of make bilieve fab.

Found out that my mate won't be around when I go to France so thats a shame not to be able to catch up and also to dump my car, so I'm now going to have a look and see about long term parking at Ashford International Railway or actually travelling down there on train all the way - any ideas anyone???

Sickness

Good day today just me and the MA in today so was able to let hair down plug MP3 into PC and order MA around lol.

Then got back to granny's to pick up E - all well so far - she'd been good and eaten plenty - got back home put her to bed and approximately 10 mins later she was shouting mummy - went to investigate just in time for puke to cover me and her and bed hmmm. one bath later and a little girl taking over my bed bless.

Wine came out of course and more chilled but not looking forward to sharing a king size bed with a little girl who tends to lie side ways and take up the whole space!!! Can think of much better uses !!!

Pissed Off

Was told during the week to upload my Uni work (ie website ive developed) to the sudent K drive at uni but kept getting an access denied error so e-mailed my tutor who duly said either e-mail it in or take it in on a disk - so I did both tonight.

Got to Uni still no access to my K drive so have to copy it to the I drive only to find out that it has buggered up all my picture links - how annoyed am I - works perfectly at home then the crap Uni IT system totally balls it up for me.

In the end numerous e-mails to IT to sort out as I'm really fed up and an extension to the hand in date due to "new software" and im back home with a glass of wine about to go in the bath and missing J like mad!!!

Tomorrow can only get better - please god!!!!

Help

An alien has taken over my child....

She went to her fathers for the weekend and has come back a monster - god only knows what has been going on but she has been the cheekiest ever today not to mention throwing tantrum's. She is nearly three now so i'm hoping im only catching the end of terribly two's - time for bath and a glass of wine i think!

Bloody Windy Here!

Woaaaaaaaa I know the weather forecast said severe weather warning but when are they ever right??? Hmmmmm well there were lol.

Got in last night to very windy weather and last night gotta say woke a few times and thought to myself boy the wind sounds bad - well this morning i got up and looked out the window to find E's wendy house no longer where it should be on the paddock!!! Now we are talking about a wooden thing here full of all her bikes and baby trampoline etc for the summer so we are talking heavy stuff which took 4 adults and castors to move it into position (When empty)! - yes I think we have established they are very high winds here, The wendy house has now been found a little further round wedged aainst the cherry tree with remarkebly not much damage. Then i noticed next doors paddock was completely empty - usually had a climbing frame and a bench on it - I saw the climbing frame in the distance rolling over the next field. Apart from that and usual tree down and tile off not more damage but I have not ventured outside yet so that could all change.

Got a call from next door this afternoon asking me to babysit tonight - such an exciting life i lead and informing me that thay are thinking of taking a holiday in April to Australia to consider living there!!!! just have to wait and see on that one - think the weather is pissing them off today lol.

Update

Well i gave in and went to the Doctors yesterday as I've not been right since new years day and it was confirmed infection :( antibiotics now but feeling much better - made me laugh when the Doc said you just need to take it easy and rest - I just laughed said im a single parent of a two/nearly three year old!!!!!

Started new job which is ok but can't wait until i get doing what i really want to do.

Got myself an MP3 player yesterday to take to France and actually got some tracks loaded onto it today wooo hooo.

Talking about wooooo hoooooo, had an on line chat with Ledbum last night which was much appreciated since i was feeling really crap, sounds like they are having a great time and I even got a pic lol looks great. I could have done with Ledbum's opinion on the MP3 player but it was dirt cheap so what the hell and im sure it will do for what i want anyway. Mighty glad we got a chat though cheered me up but sure it cost a fortune for Ledbum!!!! Missing you!!!

Anyway not long 4 weeks wooo hooooooo.

Right bath time and was supposed to be an early night night hmmmmmm - MP3 player (new toy) took over tonight - never mind sleep in as E is with her dad.

Stomach Bug returned - I think it might be my mum poisoning me - last time i had this i had a mince pie at her house - and again today and thats the only thing different I have had from her so I think we have the culprit and no more mince pies for me!

Children Say the Funniest Things

I put E to bed last night and she was having problems sleeping so I went to talk to her for a while about this and that and when I decided it really was time for bed I told her to just shut her eyes and think of nice things and I'll be there in the morning to give her a big kiss and a cuddle - that worked fine for 5 mins when I got the mummy call - to which she added "I can't close my eyes mummy because they keep opening again its not fair"!

The today she told me she wanted to marry me on the top of Roseberry Topping (land mark round where I live)and live in the big house at the foot of it (Pinchinthorpe Hall) lol I love her to death and makes all the tantrums worth while.

Relieved

Just heard from S and R who are safely back from India - The reason they had not been in touch is because the rest of the world know more about the earthquate than the actual people in the country itself - all they knew was they could not get a line out but did not think anything much of it - typical huh

Bob The Builder Is In Love

Sorry to approach this in such an adult setting but has anyone seen Bob The Builder on TV lately? Of course me having a nearly three year old am an expert in childrens TV however have noticed something lately. I have suspected this for a while now due to little hints however in two of the episodes I have seen in the last two days there is definitely something going on:

Episode 1 - Bob and Wendy go line dancing and after they come back and agree they had a fab time and gaze at each other for longer than normal Wendy retreats to her house which incidentally overlooks Bob's and discreatly watches from the window as he shows off the prize t the machines with Wendy siging ni the background.

Episode 2 - Pilchard the cat goes missing - actually went with Bob but Bob being a bloke did not notice so when he got back and Wendy was in tears until she saw Pilchard. Bob went into caring caring mode and even my little girl said Bob should be hugging Wendy now - quite a subdued episode which should have ended in a small smoooch.

Bloody hell i need to get out more ;)

Happy New Year!!!!?

I decided to spend new year with my mum as we were both by ourselves this year and managed to get her out to the pub with me for one (or so i thought). Turns out the world and his wife were out with people i've not seen for years so one turned into a few and i ended the evening slightly drunk drinking champagne back at my mums.

Got E back New Years Day though (seemed like ages since I saw her but the big hug and i missed you was all i needed).

Then a surprise visit from D and S and W,H and B delivering the beams for my kitchen was great. However an hour after they left i felt dreadful! I spent the rest of the night in the bath for 3 hours trying to keep warm (even though I had a temperature) thank god for combi boilers, then the stomach pain, numerous visits to the loo and not much sleep followed by E up at 6am was not a good combination. I thought I had escaped being ill and totally blame it all on Ledbum who insisted I was the carrier however i now think otherwise!!!.

Well Ledbum and JP are on their version of J and J's roadtrip (I know Ledbum was a bit anxious but totally un-called for i reckon) and I got a text as they were boarding the ferry so good luck guys and can't wait to see you - seems ages away but as it was pointed out by Ledbum its only 4 weekends (5 weeks) and I'm the first out there so I get to pass verdict first on the apartment. I can't wait and although its only been a couple of days I'm missing my buddy already :( perhaps because i've been feeling so crap has exaggerated that.

Ah well ttfn zzzzzzzzzzzzz early night for me:)
